Fairyland - Zhangjiajie
Zhangjiajie, located in the northeast of Hunan Province and backland of Wuling Mountains, is one of the most important tourist cities in China. The famous film "Avatar" has taken views here. With a population of 1.68 million, Zhangjiajie covers an area of 9,653 square kilometers. The National Forest Park had been given the name of Zhangjiajie after the name of a small village located within its bounds, and now a popular tourist attraction within the park. The three-character name can be interpreted as follows: "Zhang" is a common surname in China; "Jia" can be translated as "family"; and "Jie" can be translated as "homeland", giving the completed translation of "Zhang family homeland." There are many scenic spots within the border of Zhangjiajie, such as Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, the first national forest park in China; Jiutian Cavity, regarded as a wonder of the world's cavities; Puguang Temple, a famous temple to the south of Yangtze River; the Folk Garden of Tujia People; Wulei Mountain, a sacred Taoism place.
